Our smiling kids keep on working!

Nuestros ninos sonrientes continuan trabajando!

It was such a joy to be able to travel to Washington DC with such a group of fine kids. Most of these kids have been part of El Centro for the majority of its 15 years of existence. Our thanks to Rep Kelly and Senator Wicker for hosting us at the Capitol. It was such a wonderful & exciting experience for all of us! These kids are so grateful for the experience as one of them stated, “Big thank you Mrs Lety. I’m so glad I got to be a part of this. I am so grateful to have grown up with El Centro and still be a part of it after all these years. I will forever remember this trip and the people on it. Thank you so much.”

Me fue un placer el haber podido viajar a Washington DC con un gran grupo de jovencitos. La mayoría de estos muchachos han sido parte de El Centro la mayor parte de los 15 años de existencia. Nuestro agradecimiento al Representante Kelly y al Senador Wicker por recibirnos en La Capital. Fue una experiencia maravillosa y emocionante para todos nosotros. Estos jovencitos están muy agradecidos por la experiencia, como dijo uno de ellos, “Muchas gracias Mrs. Lety. Estoy muy contento de haber sido parte de esta experiencia. Estoy muy agradecido de haber crecido con El Centro y seguir siendo parte de él después de todos estos años. Siempre recordaré este viaje y la gente en él. Muchas gracias.”

Well, we had another busy day at El Centro and we celebrated Valentine’s day with lots of food and some games! Our thanks again to the teachers & parents for bringing goodies to share.

Fue otro dia ocupadicimos para nuestros ninos y jovencitos en El Centro. Tambien celebramos El Dia de San Valentin con comida y juegos! Muchisimas gracias a los maestros y padres quienes trajeron botanitas para compartir.

Our reading group numbers were a little low today but we had plenty attentive & hardworking Readers. Many kids, and teens, also had homework but made time to have fun too! Our thanks to our TEACHERS and TUTORS!

Aunque nuestra participacion de ninos en lectura estuvo baja, los ninos presente estuvieron muy atentos y trabajaron duro! Bastantes ninos, y jovencitos, tuvieron tarea pero siempre tenemos tiempo para divertinos un poco. Agredecimos mucho a los MAESTROS y TUTORES!
